Free Befriending Service offered by A Class Care

Home care support agency, A Class Care has hit on a novel way to combat loneliness amongst the old and the vulnerable in their community this winter.

Starting on November 22 and running through to January 2023 they have pledged to provide 100 hours of their befriending service for free.

The befriending service is where highly trained staff members, all of whom are DBS checked, will arrange either a weekly 15-minute check-in call or a 30-minute face-to-face companionship visit across locations in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

These visits give older people the opportunity to see a friendly face, have a cup of tea and chat with someone that cares.

To qualify for the free visits, you would need:

  • to live alone
  • not be able to access the community
  • be over the age of 65, or
  • have experienced a recent bereavement and need companionship

Not only will A Class Care be able to provide this free befriending service, but during their visits they can signpost other community services such as:

  • Day Centres
  • OT referrals
  • Community Navigators
  • Councillors
  • Wardens and more

If you are interested in finding out more, or you would like to make a referral to the befriending service then please send A Class Care your name, contact details and the reason that you require the service.

You can send your enquiry to befriend@aclasscare.co.uk
