Tech Pioneer Debbie Harris Scoops WAGS Award

London, 28th November 2024 – Autumna, the UK’s largest and most detailed online directory of care providers, is delighted to announce that its founder, Debbie Harris, has been awarded The Woman in Tech Award at the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards (WAGS).

Hosted by Magic Radio DJ, Neev Spencer, The WAGS Awards celebrated the achievements of women in social care, promoting gender equity and inspiring future leaders.

The Gala event held at the Hilton London Bankside on Thursday 28th November included entertainment from a Spice Girls cover group and special guest, Baroness Floella Benjamin. Baroness Benjamin gave an inspiring and empowering speech and sung her a cappella rendition of Smile by Charlie Chaplin.

Debbie Harris was honoured for her development of two groundbreaking tools: DAD, a digital tool that streamlines hospital discharges, and OpenScore, a real-time quality rating system aiding care providers amidst regulatory challenges. These innovative solutions are transforming the landscape of later-life care, improving patient outcomes, and supporting care providers.

Building on Debbie’s remarkable achievement, Autumna proudly sponsored the WAGS Awards and played a key role in recognising excellence within the sector. Debbie had the honour of presenting two highly coveted awards:

  • The Social Care Superwoman Award (Care Home): Katrina Ball, Care Home Manager, Larchwood Care
