WiFi SPARK and D.A.D partnership launches

With the aim to support the discharge crisis in the NHS and potentially save each hospital more than half a million pounds per year.

According to the NHS Key Statistics: England, June 2022 report, there are an average of 128,629 beds open overnight. However latest NHS figures show in July only 40% of patients were able to leave hospital when they were ready to; 12,900 patients a day spent more time in hospital than needed – an 11% rise on the previous month.

Debbie Harris, Managing Director of Autumna says:

“The NHS has for many years suffered the same problems of 'bed-blocking' or more accurately patients occupying hospital beds that no longer need to be there.”

“With the winter months on the horizon, we have to find solutions to reduce pressure on capacity across our country and acute and elective services within the NHS. That is why we are delighted to launch at HETT - D.A.D the dashboard for accelerated discharge.”

D.A.D is the hospital discharge directory, providing a single point of contact to every available care provider in the UK.

“D.A.D powered by WiFi SPARK redefines Hospital Discharge, and offers more streamlined ways to support people who are waiting to leave hospital and return to their own home or accommodation-based care.”

Dean Moody, Chief Commercial Officer at WiFi SPARK comments;

"Partnering with Debbie and the D.A.D product made complete sense as our app library is focused on improving the patient experience and increasing staff efficiencies within the NHS. D.A.D is available at the fingertips of users on the new SPARK® Horizon bedside unit, launching at the HETT Show in September.”

“Everything we offer ensures access digitally to the widest care and support services. We can see the benefits D.A.D provides both in time and financial savings for our stretched NHS services."
