Emilie Huffer is Home Manager at East Hill House Residential Care Home.
I joined East Hill House four and half years ago as a domestic help. I then moved into the laundry, then the activities and wellbeing team, before becoming the Home coordinator. I have recently taken on the role of Home Manager at East Hill House and feel my experience of different aspects of the home places me in a great position to lead the team here.
I love to be involved with the activities and events that we hold at East Hill House, as the best part of the job is my residents. Being with them and interacting in a meaningful way and supporting my team, which is a ‘good bunch’.
I love the local area. There are plenty of dementia-friendly activities happening, including walking football on Mondays and a dementia choir that our residents are involved in.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
