Meet The Manager

Marvellous Bindura is General Manager at Elm Bank Care Home.

Hi, my name is Marvellous, I am the General Manager here at Elm Bank Care Home - Welcome to our website.

I have been a registered nurse for 18 years. I trained at St Bartholomew School of Nursing, City University London. I worked in a large London hospital for many years before relocating to Northamptonshire with my husband several years ago to start a family.

My experience is varied having worked in a variety of settings including local hospitals, rehabilitation units, community and nursing homes. I have 6 years of management experience and I thoroughly enjoy equipping staff with knowledge and skills to help them to give their best to our residents and enjoy their work. I love working for Barchester and feel privileged to be leading a great team and ensuring our residents are provided with quality service that meet each individual needs.

Elm Bank Care Home is nestled in the 'Rose of the Shires', Northamptonshire, We are local to Kettering town centre, easily accessible by car and bus for visiting family, and not far from Wicksteed Park.  At Elm Bank we provide a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of short breaks or long term care such as 24-hour residential care.

We have a lovely community for residents with lower support needs, giving them the care and support they need to remain as independent as they can with a choice of active and social opportunities every day.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
