Meet The Manager

Rosanna Josephine O'Mara is Home Manager at Emberbrook.

A real home has as much personality as the people who live there. That’s why we’ve made Emberbrook a place you’d be proud of and happy to live in – just as you would your own home.

Excellently situated, Emberbrook Care Home, on the Surrey/London border, is set on a private estate in the pretty village of Thames Ditton, not far from the parks and amenities of Surbiton and Kingston.

Our home is set across four wings, and three of the wings have their own dining room, large lounge area and a smaller quiet lounge, meaning peace and tranquillity is never far away.

We offer brighterkind care – a person-centred approach that is delivered through quality care, recreation and activities, and food and dining.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

Emberbrook is surrounded by lovely gardens. Landscaped lawns, pathways and our sensory garden provide residents with secure and secluded outdoor space to use as their please.

There is also a patio with outdoor seating where we regularly serve afternoon tea, and meals when the weather is fine. In the summer we hold many activities outdoors, including garden parties and barbecues.

Whether you’re entertaining your family and friends, spending time with other residents or taking part in activities, our living rooms are ideal. It’s always up to you whether you want to get involved with activities – you’re more than welcome to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Spread out across the home there are eight communal lounges, including four quiet lounges. They’re where we sometimes hold sensory activities and where residents can spend private time with their visitors.

Activities Are So Important

Activities vary each week at Emberbrook: from yoga, pilates, art and knitting classes. We also have visiting pet therapy. Everything’s flexible – if it’s sunny we try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day. We’ve built excellent links to the community, allowing residents to continue their lives outside the home with ease. We have our own minibus for trips out to the seaside, and to visit nearby parks and museums. We also receive regular visits from local schools and community groups.

Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents:
