What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Cleanliness and Infection Prevention is of paramount importance at Engelberg. Residents are risk assessed on their individual needs so we can reduce and potential harm from those risks. Engelberg regularly review residents dependencies and ensure sufficient staff are available to meet residents needs. Regular audits of the home, internally and externally are completed to ensure residents are safe.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

We always encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love, whether it is reading, gardening, dancing, or anything else they may enjoy spending their time doing. We have a wellbeing coordinator and always make sure we provide a calendar jam-packed with things to do, from old favourites to the new and exciting. Residents are welcome to take part in as many or as few of the activities as they like and are encouraged to suggest ideas for what they would like to do.

We also regularly organise trips away from the care home to local attractions, shopping centres, garden centres, and towns and villages.
