Meet The Manager

Julie Hitchcock is Home Manager at Eversleigh Care Centre.

Eversleigh Care Centre is situated in the affluent residential area of West Park in Wolverhampton. The home has good rail links, road links to the M54 and A41, and a regular bus service. The home is conveniently close to local amenities for residents and visitors.

Eversleigh Care Centre is registered to provide personal, nursing and memory care and has a choice of single and twin rooms, most having en-suite facilities. The Memory Care Unit was recently created which is beautifully furnished and is self contained.

We provide long-stay, respite care, and emergency stays. Our staff are trained in palliative (end of life) care and we take pride in offering experienced staff to deliver exceptional and compassionate end of life care. We cater for people over 40 years of age.

Our Building and Facilities

The home always strives to maintains excellent hygiene and cleanliness standards and this has been reflected in the home being awarded a Gold Award by the Infection Control Team. Eversleigh is divided into three units, Robins Wood, West Park and Garden House. There are two beautifully decorated sitting rooms, one in each unit, offering a range of comfortable armchairs and recliners to accommodate the differing needs of our residents.

We have two communal dining areas residents can enjoy our freshly cooked food, or if preferred, they are welcome to dine in their own rooms. Each unit has its own Nursing Office and each unit is managed by a Deputy Manager.

Description

Many bedrooms are spacious and provide en-suite facilities. The large bedrooms are available to accommodate couples or people wishing to share. All bedrooms meet the size requirements specified by the Care Quality Commission. We ensure Eversleigh is homely, nicely decorated, and kept clean at all times and we encourage residents to personalise their bedrooms with familiar, favourite belongings.

Residents’ choices in terms of showers or baths are encouraged and supported. There are assisted showers and bathrooms on each floor.

Activities Are So Important

Residents at Eversleigh Care Centre are encouraged to join in with activities whether in a group or one-to-one, although a former resident once said ‘this is a rest Home and I intend to rest!’ The choice is given to each individual.

We employ 2 full-time Social Activities Coordinators who ensure that a range of activities are organised either on a one-to-one basis or as a group and we encourage each resident to join in. A ‘Getting to Know Me’ document is completed with each resident upon arrival in the home to better understand their preferences.
