Shiva Singh is Registered Manager at Friendly Homecare.
I’ve been working in the social care sector for over 20 years. My personal and work experiences have inspired my passion for encouraging and supporting elderly & vulnerable individuals to maintain their independence within their own homes; or to regain it, following a deterioration in abilities, perhaps owing to illness or other reasons.
I am experienced in supporting & planning support for individuals with various health conditions and I have worked closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive health outcomes for service users. Through person-centred care planning, the team and I are able to promote individuals’ capabilities, choices, dignity and self-esteem, as a means of stimulating better physical and emotional wellbeing.
I am also quite ardent about staff development, in order to deliver an efficient, high quality and personalised care service with a focus on interaction and involvement.
Friendly Homecare is an independent provider of care support services for elderly and vulnerable individuals. Our services are aimed at supporting individuals to maintain their independence within their own homes and communities.
We cover a range of practical, personal, and complex support for older adults, individuals with learning or physical disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, palliative care needs and many other long-term conditions. Worth mentioning as well, is our companionship support, which includes accompanying clients/service users to appointments (medical or non-medical) or going out shopping. It could also include visiting a café/restaurant or visiting places of interest such as art galleries, cinemas, museums, theatres, etc. This ensures that individuals can continue to engage in the activities that they enjoy, therefore promoting their independence, self-esteem and general wellbeing.
We recognise and appreciate that every individual is unique; and so we dedicate time for collaboration with the individual and their family or legal representative(s), to develop personalised care plans. This consequently enables us to provide a high quality of person-centred care, based on the support required.
The team at Friendly Homecare are committed and passionate about delivering a truly personal care experience. We focus on ensuring that clients/service users have continuity of care. This is so important in developing trust and building good relationships. It also helps tremendously in recognising subtle changes in clients/service user health, that may ordinarily be missed if there is no continuity.

Despite the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, our staff continue to follow infection control guidelines to minimise the spread of COVID-19. With the rates of infection/transmission still high, this is especially important. Our support workers have access to PCR and LFD tests for Coronavirus and all required PPE. Rest assured that the safety of our support workers and service users continue to be of utmost priority. |

Independent Assessments | We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.

Regulatory Assessment | We have been assessed by the care regulator in our approach to infection control.
Virus Testing | We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting. |
