Meet The Manager

Helen Rushton is Home Director at Green Tree Court.

I am privileged to have been the Home Director/Registered Manager at Green Tree Court since 2015 and am responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the home. As a Registered General Nurse, I have over 30 years’ experience in the care home sector at all levels, including Home Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, and National Consultant. I also hold several qualifications in business, management , clinical, and dementia care.

Born and bred in the local area, I still live here with my family.

Passionate about the aims and ethos of Green Tree Court, I am incredibly proud of the team here. It is a credit to them all that we were crowned Care Home of the Year at the National Care Awards in 2018.

I always endeavour to provide the best of everything to all of our residents and support those around them. Together, we are one big Green Tree Court family that always has a warm welcome!

A national Care Home of the Year winner, Green Tree Court is a highly rated, luxurious care home in Exeter, Devon.

The team at Green Tree Court believe there’s no greater luxury than time which is why we always make time: time to chat, time to get to know you and time to understand your individual needs. Our goal is to ensure that whatever task our people are engaged in, they have time to do it with pride and care.

Take our top class chef, for example, who constantly creates new dishes to excite our residents. Our dedicated cleaning team who work round the clock to make sure everything is always in perfect condition. Our team of hosts who are here for you, whatever you need and whenever you need it. Our therapy team who provide the highest standards of physio and occupational therapy on-site. And most importantly, our specialist carers and nurses, who have the expertise to give you the individual care you deserve at every stage of life.

After all, this is your life and we want you to live it to the full.

For those that want it and are able, we offer every kind of activity from theatre visits to yoga, poetry readings to the pub. Or you may simply want to sit and enjoy our beautiful landscaped gardens.

Whatever you want to do, it’s your choice.

Enjoy bubble baths while listening to Frank Sinatra? Our top of the range facilities make it possible, whatever your mobility issues.

Love horses but can’t ride them anymore? We’ll do all we can to keep your interest alive – including bringing horses to you at the home.

Want to host your family on Christmas Day? The more the merrier.

Make the most of your time and make yourself completely at home. Choose Green Tree Court.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

At Green Tree Court, we have a lovely variety of living spaces where our residents can relax, unwind, socialise, and enjoy a drink or something to eat. All spaces are finished to a high quality, with comfortable furniture and attractive décor, boasting a superior standard and welcoming feel.

The home has five dining rooms and six lounges plus a cosy library and café. The café serves all of your favourite hot and cold drinks, including classic cappuccinos and tasty lapsang souchang, wonderfully complemented by a selection of homemade pastries and cakes which are freshly baked by the kitchen each morning.

For those who like to relax outside, our peaceful garden offers the perfect place for some peace and tranquility. Secure, private, and landscaped, the garden is bursting with delights throughout the year and is full of birds, butterflies, and blooms. We also have a sheltered memory garden which is home to a variety of scented herbs, and a terrace which provides a lovely space to sit with a cup of tea.

Activities Are So Important

We understand how important variety is when it comes to physical and emotional wellbeing and we carefully choose activities that will nurture the mind, body, and soul.

We have a luxury minibus which enables us to organise trips to everywhere from the theatre to the pub.

Many of our activities promote social interaction and the opportunity to chat with residents, guests, and our team members, so you can enjoy making new connections too. We often invite visitors to the care home – such as wonderfully energetic local pre-school children and exotic creatures!
