Grove Park – A Proud Care Home in Leeds

Grove Park Care Home is a short walk from Headingley train station, easily connected to the heart of Leeds, and close to the A660 Otley Road. Our Leeds care home attracts residents from across the region due to its quality care facility, in particular, its dedicated dementia care with a specialist ‘Memory Care Suite’. Couples and companions are warmly welcomed in our home where their well-being, comfort, and happiness are our top priority.

Situated in a quiet wooded valley, overlooking peaceful suburbs, and playing fields, Grove Park Care Home brings to Leeds and the surrounding areas a home of first-rate quality and style. We are lucky enough to enjoy a cinema for afternoon matinées, a fully equipped hair salon, and a large sun terrace with a grandstand view of the local sports club. There is also a well-stocked library and a relaxing café for residents and their guests.

Our Leeds care home nurtures an atmosphere of companionship and a quality of living that is hard to match. Resident well-being is our focus, and we work hard to ensure that it’s easy to settle in and that all support is given with professional expertise.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are confident that our care homes are now some of the very safest places to live and work.

All of our staff have been trained in additional and heightened cleansing protocols and hygiene regimes, and these are being supported by a leading sanitisation system as part of our comprehensive infection controls. Testing regimes will continue for staff, residents and visitors.

We have re-aligned the resident in-house services to meet social distance guidance from the Government, for areas such as lounges and dining rooms, and for visiting entertainers and hair dressers; we are working hard to restore these services within the ‘new normal’ circumstances as soon as we can, when lockdown rules allow.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space

Avery Healthcare has invested in outdoor garden ‘visitor pods’

The pods, are a garden room specifically designed to facilitate safe face-to-face contact with relatives and visitors. Each pod contains a floor to ceiling partition screen and a hands-free intercom so that communication is clear and safe for use. They are fitted with internal electrics and two, low-surface temperature electric panel heaters – suitable for these winter months.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

We are very proud of our beautiful terrace and the busy team of resident gardeners who keep it looking wonderful all year round. Special care is taken over the topiary animals which, along with the shrubs and flowers, raised beds, bird feeders, chimes and herb planters are focal points of home life. Grandstand views of rugby are thrown in! But that’s by no means all. Our team of Activity Coordinators make sure there is something for everyone to be involved with, even if their fingers are not particularly green. For instance:

  • Creative writing classes
  • Wildlife webcams to watch
  • Visits from PAT (Pets as Therapy) dogs
  • Knitting Nanas that Natter
  • Arts and crafts sessions
  • Going out for walks

We believe it benefits everyone’s well-being to be active and mentally stimulated, so there is something going on every day, with a choice of activities on each floor. We make use of reminiscence and sensory-based activities for residents in our Memory Care Suite; visits from local schools, musical entertainers and speakers who talk on a wide range of subjects keep everyone happy. We do our best to support any particular interests residents have, and we make best use of our minibus which gets us out and about to local places of interest. It’s a great way to make new friends.
