Meet The Manager

Maxine Mills is Manager at Halvergate House.

"I have been in the care industry for 35 years and started because I wanted to help people and make a difference.

I have worked my way up, managing many homes for over 10 years and gaining experience in every area of the homes. My drive to become a manager was never about the position—it was because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives, and I quickly realised I needed to be in a position to do this. I love my job and being able to fulfil what I started out to achieve.

I feel that being a good manager is about being a good listener and acting, working as a team that is all amazing, and creating a positive, uplifting environment."

The manager has an open door policy for anyone to come to discuss any concerns they have which are acted on quickly. We have a safe environment and place importance on support staff having the training and skills to carry out the work in a safe manner.
