Hatfield is located in a civil parish in Hertfordshire, in an area historically associated with aircraft design and manufacture.

The care home is a stone’s throw from The Galleria shopping centre and a short bus ride from Hatfield town centre.

Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care, dementia care, nursing care, palliative care and respite care.

Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges with fireplaces, light and airy dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax. We also have our very own pub called ‘The Comet’.

However, it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Hatfield a true home from home.

We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.

We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Hatfield.

Our Building and Facilities

Set across smaller and more intimate ‘communities’, our spacious 118 bedrooms are all en-suite and benefit from having internet access and television points. Several of our ground-floor bedrooms also have patio doors leading out to the gardens.

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.

We have several lounge areas for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.

Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

Complete with optics, our specially created pub ‘The Comet’ is the perfect place for our residents to socialise over a game of cards or dominoes.

Our very own old-fashioned sweet shop has vintage glass jars filled to the rim with traditional sweets, weighed using old brass scales. It reminds residents of the shops they would visit around Hertfordshire when they were children.

Residents can also enjoy a weekly pamper in the comfort of our very own hairdressing salon. A qualified mobile hairdresser, local to Hatfield, visits us and other residential and nursing homes every week.

We also have our own dementia-friendly café, finished with shabby chic furniture and a cinema room complete with a large interactive plasma screen and popcorn machine.

Our landscaped garden has raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening and includes seating areas, making it the perfect place to relax in the sunshine.
