Headroomgate Care Home is a very personal and family orientated Home in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, catering for residential care of adults over and under 65 years old. We offer long term permanent placements, short term placements and respite care. We can accommodate both local authority funded care and private funded care.

Headroomgate Care Home is a former Edwardian gentleman’s residence that has been sympathetically converted to create a unique residential Home. Headroomgate was constructed in 1912 and retains many period features including the original rockery in the front garden of the home. Headroomgate was used as a school from the 1950s until 1986 when it closed and became a nursing home. The home is fully equipped to meet the individual needs of its residents, whilst retaining a homely and inviting environment.

Our staff receive training in infection prevention and control which includes the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). To protect our residents we recommend that visitors do not visit if they are feeling unwell or have an infection. Staff are also reminded not to attend work if they are not well.

The home is ideally situated in a quiet residential area 5 minutes from the lively and attractive town centre of St. Annes making it convenient both for the local shops or the promenade. The home is set in its own grounds and has ample parking areas.

Description

Our bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. All bedrooms have safety features including smoke detectors, 24-hour call systems and covered radiators. Bedrooms are located on both the ground and the upper floors. There are ample toilet facilities on both floors. The home has both a shower and a bath, which are fitted with facilities to make them suitable for those residents with mobility difficulties. All bedrooms are easily accessible via the four person passenger lift.

Activities Are So Important

At Headroomgate our activities coordinator engages the residents in many activities that they really enjoy. The daily activities include cards, dominoes, crafts, singing, reminiscing, sitting in the garden and accompanied walks and trips out. We also have a singer that performs for the residents at the home. Friends and relatives are also welcome to participate in our activities. There are also a number of annual events which we celebrate. These include residents’ birthdays, Pancake Day, St. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Father’s Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year.

We have a visiting hairdresser and chiropodist who regularly attend the home. Visiting clergy hold occasional services in the home.
