We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place

Our Building and Facilities

Highland House is a modern looking home furnished to a high standard. Since become the owners in 2013, the current owners have undertaken an extensive programme of refurbishment. We have created a warm and bright environment that provides a comfortable setting for our residents. Our 27 ensuite bedrooms and communal areas allow our small care home to create an intimate environment.

Our approach to the design of the home is maximise the use of natural light throughout the building. This has been cleverly down through a mixture of sun tunnels and velux windows that have transformed the atmosphere in the home. Our latest addition has been the new garden room, which provides floor to ceiling windows overlooking a sensory garden.

Activities Are So Important

We provide a range of activities that enable our residents to continue to enjoy their time. We deliver our activities through our staff and also third party entertainers (like singers and music for health). There is not a one size fits all model, with our approach tailoring our activities to ensure that all our residents and staff find their niche. For those residents who may choose not to participate in group activities, we do provide one-to-one time when appropriate.

Our care staff have received training from Bright Shadow, who encourage a theme based, sensory approach to activities. Their input has inspired our team to provide their own individualized and innovative activities that assists those who may be suffering with their short term memory. We have adapted the home to allow all of our residents to be able to participate our activities. Our latest addition has been the sensory garden, which benefits from raised beds and a variety of topiary for our residents to enjoy.
