Maekhala Allan is Care Home Manager at Hillside Care Home.
As Hillside Residential Home Manager, I have a strong conviction that each resident should have the opportunity to live their life as they wish to, in this very comfortable and welcoming setting.
At Hillside care home in Sudbury we provide residential care for up to 44 elderly residents with an excellent reputation for delivering the highest quality care.
Hillside offers a full range of residential care support, including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care, as well as long-term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms.
At Hillside we also benefit from a close working relationship with our sister home, Mellish House, located next door. Mellish House provides specialist residential support for people living with dementia.
Our two homes provide a continuous care pathway offering elderly residents, their families and loved ones, the peace of mind afforded by knowing that changing care needs can be catered for at a single location.
As the Home Manager at Hillside, I ensure that every member of our Care Team receives the ongoing training they need to do their jobs. This enables our Team to build on the excellent reputation we have earned for high quality care provision.
Our home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission, with both ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.
We operate an open visiting policy at Hillside, so residents and loved ones may visit at the times that are convenient for them.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
