Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.
What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||
---|---|---|
Hylands House staff all have infection control training, which is regularly updated. Audits are carried out throughout the home on daily and/or weekly basis. PPE is available in stations throughout the home, housekeeping staff regularly deep clean the rooms and the public areas. |
Infection Control Initiatives in place | ||
---|---|---|
Independent Assessments | We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control. | |
Infection Control Training | Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections. | |
Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices | We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting. | |
Virus Testing | We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting. |
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |
---|
Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Our Building and Facilities |
---|
Inside, there are five different sitting areas, including a conservatory, outside which is a small sheltered patio. The garden is easily accessible by a lift, so there is no need for people or wheelchairs to negotiate slopes or steps. There is a wheelchair-usable path and garden benches for sitting out on sunny days. In summer there is always a special garden fete for the residents, their friends and families when we get out all the picnic tables, garden umbrellas and the pergola and we have stalls and some live music. Green-fingered residents may enjoy pottering in the garden if they wish, planting out or dead heading. |
