Meet The Manager

Tess Sterling is Registered Manager at Ingham House.

Tess is a Registered Nurse with a wealth of experience within the Healthcare Industry including the NHS.

Ingham House was established as a Residential Care Home in 1988 by Christine and Barry Taylor and remains a family business to this day.

Ingham House strives to provide a safe and homely environment for its residents. We promote dignity, independence and choice. It is important to us that each resident is treated as an individual and assisted in fulfilling their personal ambitions in all aspects of daily life.

Visitors are always welcome to Ingham House and may join us for meals if they wish. Many of our events are open to friends and family, invitations are usually included in our quarterly newsletter. There is adequate on street parking and a visitor’s car park at the front of the building.

Our Building and Facilities

Ingham House is made up of two large Victorian houses which are connected by a sunny walkway. There is also a new purpose built wing which overlooks the large mature garden.

The spacious communal areas comprise of a main lounge, where residents often watch television. The conservatory, where most of our activities take place and a quiet lounge, for reading or listening to music.

There is also a comfortable seating area in the dining room which provides a more private setting for residents to welcome visitors

Description

All rooms located above the ground floor are accessible by a passenger lift or chair lift. Most rooms are now en-suite and all are decorated to a high standard in keeping with the period features of the home. Each room is fitted with a call system and a flat screen television.

All rooms come fully furnished, however residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and ornaments and personalise rooms to their own specifications.

Activities Are So Important

At Ingham House we have an extensive calendar of events and a dedicated activities team, who strive to tailor activities to meet individual interests.

As well as daily activities, we host an event every month where friends, relatives and prospective residents are invited to join us. These include cheese and wine evenings, seasonal parties and our annual summer fete. There is a shopping trip for residents twice a week to the town centre.
