Laura Parker is Home Manager at Kingswood Manor Care Home.
Hello, my name is Laura. I am the Home Manager at Kingswood Manor.
I have been a nurse since 2009. I thoroughly enjoy being hands on and developing good relationships with residents, families, and team members. I pride myself in being a proactive leader who likes to bring cheer to the workplace.
In my spare time I am a keen crafter and there’s never a crochet hook far away!
Kingswood Manor Care Home in Woolton, Liverpool is a historic building and a well-known local landmark, with a beautiful sweeping staircase, painted ceilings and original cornices.
Care within the home is led by an experienced and dedicated team of nursing staff and carers. This well trained team uses a person-centred approach to caring which ensures that resident’s needs and wishes are understood and recorded. This bespoke approach ensures high levels of resident satisfaction.
Kingswood Manor is recognised in the local area as the nursing home which delivers a standard of end-of-life care which is ‘way and above’ other nursing environments. The excellent standard of nursing care is well known among local clinical professionals.
Special mention must be made of the ‘Community Partnership Award, given by Educate 2016 to Kingswood Manor and Springwood Heath Primary School for their collaboration project which still continues today. Children from the school come to read to residents and also come and talk, sing and spend time getting to know each other. Residents absolutely ‘love’ these weekly visits and both generations really make the most of their time together.
As you would expect, the home has a dedicated dining team to ensure that the menu consists of home-cooked nutritious meals.
Together we are dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of all, through quality, excellence and fun.

Activities Are So Important |
---|
Activities since lock down have taken a slightly different path with not having the 3 schools visiting or us visiting them. No trips out as every week we would always go to a Social Club for entertainment and lunch, entertainers haven’t been in nor our furry friends but each day we all still enjoy each others company and have fun from games such as Bingo, Carpet Bowls, Floor Dominoes and ‘Name That Tune’ and a fun General Knowledge Quiz every week. Every Friday we get the 12 ft screen out and with the projector we watch a film, open the bar up, and enjoy watching a nominated movie! |
