Samantha Bell is Home Manager at Lavender Lodge Care Home.
A Fine Nursing Home in Farnborough
Lavender Lodge Care Home is well known in Farnborough, as it has been serving the local and wider Hampshire community for the last 30 years. As a residential, respite, nursing, and dementia care home in Farnborough, it has developed an excellent reputation with the general public and referral sources across the county. Our staff are both passionate about their roles and compassionate in their care.
All of the bedrooms in our Farnborough care home are spacious and have plenty of room for the special keepsakes and belongings that make the room your own. Our lounges are happy places to be in too, whether to join in one of the many activities with others or to sit quietly with a book or newspaper. Couples and companions are warmly welcomed in our home where their well-being, comfort, and happiness are our top priority.
That is not to say we don’t have screens. We have found that using the internet and iPads yield a wealth of resources, especially for conjuring up memories – a very useful tool for those with memory loss. And if relatives live abroad or cannot visit very often, Skyping is a great option. Don’t worry, we are clued up and able to convince residents of the benefits of modern technology!
We also have a lovely garden and use it when the weather is good for exercising, gardening and sometimes for just having a nice cup of tea and a cake.
To see what we get up to at our nursing home in Farnborough, check out our dedicated Facebook page which is kept up to date with all the activities and goings on in the home. Alternatively, you can call our friendly team who are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||
---|---|---|
Avery Healthcare has always made the health and safety of our residents and staff a priority, and the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to raise our exacting standards to even higher levels. That is why we are taking the innovative step to introduce a cleaning system into our care homes that is already proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, including MRSA, e-Coli, norovirus and the SARS virus (which is similar to Cov-2, which causes Covid-19). All Avery homes are now equipped with Topaz Machines ready for when we can allow visiting into the homes. The system hosts two units, one larger which dispenses hand sanitiser to visitors upon arrival and exit; it also provides an important messaging display screen to advise visitors of the latest news, and the other, a smaller screen, which operates as a thermal checker so that we can support temperature checks of those entering the building. Yet another fantastic piece of technology that provides relatives with safer, more efficient visits with their loved ones. |

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |
---|
Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Wireless Internet access (WiFi) Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms. Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”) Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms. Telephone for external calling Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms. |
Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.
With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.
