Kirsty Holden is Home Manager at Magdalen House Care Home.
Kirsty has been in the care industry since she was 18 years old. She started as a care assistant, making her way to home manager within five years.
She brings thirteen years of expertise and experience to the home manager role at Magdalen House. She has been awarded a QCR level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care and children and Young Peoples Services and during her previous appointments, she was awarded ‘Care Home Manager of the Year’ in which the judges described her as “fun, full of life, committed, knowledgeable and caring” and she saw the residents as an extension of my family.
Outside of her working career she has a loving husband and two children that keep her busy.
Magdalen House Care Home provides luxury residential care for individuals and couples, residential and dementia care. The home provides a level of comfort and care that surpasses expectations for care homes. It is our attention to the details of people’s interests, desires and independence which sets us apart.
Magdalen House is situated within the heart of Hadleigh, which is a historic market town in Suffolk with 246 listed buildings. The home was built on the old Hadleigh Bowls Club, established from 1754 to 2010, making it one of the oldest bowls club in the country.

The residents’ living accommodation was designed for independent living whilst offering the care the residents require. All rooms are fully furnished with a flat screen tv and a walk in shower room We have six suites, each of which includes a kitchenette and en-suite shower room. The suites allow ‘assisted living’ – for people who value their independence, but need some help with some day-to-day activities, such as having their meals prepared, dressing, bathing or taking medication. |

Magdalen House has 53 single-occupancy rooms, all en-suite. The home is able to provided assisted living accommodation on the second floor, each suite has its own en-suite facilities, power points, phone points and Wi-Fi access. There are 6 superior Suites on the top floor, providing assisted living accommodation with outstanding views over Hadleigh. Each suite has a furnished, open plan bedroom lounge kitchenette and en-suite wet room. |

At Magdalen House, daily activities are arranged and these are advertised on notices throughout the home. These include residents hobbies including cooking, exercise class, moving to music and a quiz. Residents have use of the modern lounges with flat screen televisions. They can also relax in the quiet areas to read, rest or socialise with other residents or join in activities. Here are some of the other activities at Magdalen House: Events: We have many events held throughout the year, which are advertised well in advance to ensure residents are able to attend. Summer fetes are organised (weather permitting). Gardening: Residents can enjoy the patio and assist in gardening. Coffee mornings: We hold regular coffee mornings to encourage residents to take part in catching up on local news and welcome their views on social events we arrange for them. Cinema room: Regular film shows are also advertised to enjoy in the cinema room. |
