Sonia Fairhurst is General Manager at Newton House.
Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Newton House has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.
I have worked for the healthcare sector for many years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. I like to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.
Quality of care that all my residents receive is my passion and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person centred care possible.
If you are looking for care for yourself or a loved one, please do get in touch and I look forward to welcoming you to our home, you’re always welcome!
Newton House care home provides high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care, alongside expert care for people living with dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also offer respite care or short breaks, which can now pre-booked up to a year in advance.
Newton House has four communities in total, two of which cater for the needs of elderly frail people, and two for people living with dementia. We also support both nursing and residential residents. We tailor all care towards the individual needs of each person, putting residents at the centre of our care. Our aim is to maintain and encourage skills and we work with the philosophy of what the resident can do and support them in the areas of their life where they are experiencing difficulty.
In our Memory Lane communities, we hold the mentality that it is us who cannot understand what the resident is trying to communicate, and we believe that we have to find a way to change that. Our staff on Memory Lane have had specialised training to ensure that they can reduce the distress and frustration that a person living with dementia may experience on a regular basis. We also realise the stress that this can put on the family, so we aim to support loved ones through the dementia journey as well.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
