Meet The Manager

Joanne Fenn is Manager at Nynehead Court.

Jo actually began her career at Nynehead Court at the age of 14, working at weekends delivering tea trays and washing up. She worked at Popham House in Wellington when it was a home for blind people after completing work experience, and at this stage the home was owned by the County Council. She has continued to work in the care sector ever since, mainly with Somerset Care, and for the past 16 years she has managed various care homes for them.

Jo's career has come full circle and has brought her back to the place where it began!

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

The all-inclusive fee structure means that one never has to worry about additional costs. In addition to the costs of accommodation, meals and care, the fees also include aperitifs before dinner and wine with meals; therapies; activities; hobbies; escorted trips out for shopping, appointments, pub lunches and cream teas; use of the minibus, cars and buggies; and daily newspapers and journals.

Nynehead Court's varied activities programme is planned and organised by its dedicated activities team and includes trips to local places of interest as well as on-site activities which include art classes, exercise sessions, and visits by entertainers.

Nynehead Care enjoys excellent links with the local community and the residents benefit from the outside company and varied activities which are held within the grounds of the Court, as well as the participation in daily routine with the owners of the mews houses. The Friends of Nynehead Court are particularly active and take great interest in bringing outside interest to the Court, as well as hosting regular drinks parties and social functions.

The 13th Century Parish Church adjoins the grounds of the Court and is used for regular services. One regular Sunday service is held in the drawing room of the Court each month, when the Parish community come into the Court.

Local groups and the Friends of Nynehead Court make use of the Orangery for public events, to which the residents of the Court are invited and where new interests are encouraged and new acquaintances made. An annual fete is also held in the grounds and regular tours and demonstrations are held in the gardens, all of which are enjoyed by the residents and bring even more variety to the Court.
