Corin Ridout is General Manager at Oak Lodge Care Home.
Our stylish, purpose-built home is situated in the peaceful residential area of Bitterne. Here, we warmly welcome those living with dementia in need of nursing or palliative care. This allows us to put a real focus on ensuring residents get the right level of care for their needs.
We put a real focus on making sure our care provides residents with the respect, dignity and high quality of life that they deserve. We encourage them to get involved in the variety of activities we offer to cultivate a social atmosphere.
We have multiple lounges that residents can use to have a coffee or read books. There are also quiet places around the home if residents want some peace or a nap.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
