Corin Ridout is General Manager at Oak Lodge Care Home.

Our stylish, purpose-built home is situated in the peaceful residential area of Bitterne. Here, we warmly welcome those living with dementia in need of nursing or palliative care. This allows us to put a real focus on ensuring residents get the right level of care for their needs.

We put a real focus on making sure our care provides residents with the respect, dignity and high quality of life that they deserve. We encourage them to get involved in the variety of activities we offer to cultivate a social atmosphere.

We have multiple lounges that residents can use to have a coffee or read books. There are also quiet places around the home if residents want some peace or a nap.

There’s no typical day at Oak Lodge, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.

We take residents on days out to the races to have a flutter if they so wish.

The local community is always available to help organise and participate in seasonal events.

Whether its standing up or from the comfort of their armchairs, residents are encourage to partake in gentle exercises.
