Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Oaklands lies in a small south Norfolk village, just four miles from Diss with easy access to the A140 and A143. Both the Norwich and Gt Yarmouth buses travel through the village, which has a shop, and a public house. The home is a beautiful, tastefully converted grade II listed Georgian manor house with rooms for 53 residents and plenty of communal areas. Visually attractive inside and out, the home has large, well-maintained grounds that residents can and do enjoy all year round. Oaklands has had a recent programme of refurbishment, and has been carefully and tastefully modernised to provide exceptional care in a truly homely environment. The home still retains its high ceilings and many of its original features, such as the grand sweeping staircase. The home has so much character, and with its wealth of interesting ornaments, objects d’art, pictures and talking points, it never ceases to please and entertain. The friendly staff always extend a warm welcome too, so visitors tend to be immediately put at their ease. The home is very well appointed with private rooms, suites and pleasant common areas, including a large dining room, lounge, school and music corridor, sports corridor, conservatory, garden and patios. Each bedroom is finished to the highest standard, but can be individualised and decorated to personal taste. They are also fitted with necessary aids such as call bell systems, door alarms and wet rooms. Baths are fitted in en suite rooms, and the following are available should the need arise: pressure mats, pressure-relieving equipment, hoists, stand aids and lifts. As with all Kingsley homes, our daily emphasis is on the care that our residents need, whether that be physical, emotional or mental. We actively encourage those who are considering living here to visit and spend some time at the home to gain an accurate perception of the care we offer. It will give you an opportunity to meet the team and ask any questions you may have. The home manager, Helen, will be more than happy to show you around and introduce you to everyone. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
The people, environment and embedded Kingsley culture all go towards creating a one-big-family feeling at Oaklands. Staff eat with the residents and even work with individuals who enjoy helping out around the home. We ensure the dining area is a communal family experience with everyone interacting, which creates a positive atmosphere throughout the home. We do not wear uniforms either, which aids in the creation of a more relaxed and comfortable environment. Staff are trained and skilled in involving individuals in the numerous activities available, and they become more like family to the residents. |
