Nicola is Registered Manager at Oaklands Rest Home.
Nicola joined Oaklands in 2014 as our Registered Manager and has become a familiar face for many in the Marchwood community, thanks to her ongoing efforts to ensure a strong relationship between the home and the local residents.
Nicola has an extensive background in the care sector, having started out in the industry at just 17 years old. Before moving to the New Forest with her family, Nicola also achieved a BSc degree in Welfare Studies from Newport University while working as a Manager at a care home in Wales.
Outside of work, Nicola can often be found taking part in charity work and raising awareness for dementia causes, having lost her own father to the illness. Nicola is also hugely family-orientated and loves listening to music and taking her dog, Bella, on long walks.
We’re a family-run, dementia registered rest home, set in a beautiful Victorian property on the edge of the New Forest. We’re equipped to deal with the many complex needs that arise from having Dementia.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |
---|
Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. It’s not just about the elderly care we provide, it’s also about making sure we help our residents live their life to the full. That’s why our team work hard to create an imaginative calendar of activities, including:
We also love a themed day or two! From a Texan barn dance to summer carnivals, our residents enjoy decorating the home and celebrating together! Of course, where’re not always on the go here at Oaklands. We all need quiet moments from time to time, which is why we make sure there are cosy corners for residents to sit back and relax with a paper or enjoy a hand massage and pampering. |
