Meet The Manager

Lyndsey Darnell is Home Manager at Park View Residential Care Home.

Since becoming home manager in May 2022, Park View has been shortlisted for the Care Home of the Year (North) Award in the Caring UK Awards 2023. I feel excited to work at Park View and be part of Sanctuary Care. I have worked in care since the age of 17 and I have experience in the NHS and local authorities. My biggest passion is customer service and providing the best possible experience for the residents, focusing on well-being and quality of life and meaningful moments, especially for those who are on their dementia journey.

Lyndsey Darnell

Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges, a light and airy atrium, a lovely cafe, landscaped gardens and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.

However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Park View a true home from home.

We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

As well as the several lounges we have a bright and airy atrium, which leads to our cafe - a beautifully decorated area where residents can meet up with loved ones or people from the local community over a coffee and a slice of cake.

Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere for our residents to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

We have also created a cinema room, which features surround sound and contains movie memorabilia.

The secure gardens are landscaped with a water feature, raised flower beds and a vegetable patch for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening.

Activities Are So Important

We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.

We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.

Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, live music entertainment, arts and crafts and light exercise sessions.

We also organise trips to places of interest outside the home including Meadowhall Shopping Centre, theatre visits and pub lunches.

Throughout the year, we also host regular themed community events such as summer fetes and Christmas fairs.
