Aimee Sparks is Home Manager at Pear Tree Court.
I’m a qualified Registered General Nurse with 15 years of experience in both NHS hospitals and private care nursing homes. I was keen to join Pear Tree Court because of Care UK’s very good reputation and the development opportunities that are available.
As a Home Manager, I believe it’s important to have a fair but firm approach, a willingness to listen and a supportive and reassuring management style. You need to have an open door for colleagues and compassion for residents. Supporting my team to ensure excellent care is provided to keep residents and their loved ones safe and happy is the most important part of my role.
My favourite part of being a Home Manager is caring for residents on a long-term basis. This means I have the opportunity to really get to know them and their families and understand how to support them to live fulfilling lives.
Pear Tree Court is a purpose-built care home in Horndean, providing the very best care in stunning surroundings. The highly trained team offer residential, dementia and nursing care to short-term respite and permanent residents, as well as compassionate end of life care.
Luxury and comfort are key at Pear Tree Court. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and the home features its very own hair salon, café and cinema. Residents are also treated to a range of menu choices at mealtimes, designed around their individual tastes.
Every aspect of care and life at Pear Tree Court is personalised to each resident. The home team get to know each individual well so they can create care and lifestyle plans that meet their unique preferences.
