Activities Are So Important |
---|
And that’s because we make it so. We are very proud of our extensive and secluded gardens and love to be out there. Here is a list of what we do, not the gardener:
So you can see that there is plenty going on. The same is true of what happens inside the building. There’s a lot you can do in a chair besides watching the telly: ‘Oomph’ exercises, playing football, balloon tennis or dominoes with your granddaughter, for instance. Life within our residential care home is always stimulating and varied. We recognise the importance of preventing falls and so have a specially designed programme of regular core strength exercises. Our lead Recreation Activity Coordinator has been recognised nationally for her high-octane activities and sheer personality. Alder House is alive with chatter, and guests often comment on the companionship that life here offers. Staff, residents and guests all mingle freely, while our popular Film Club enjoys daily viewings in our cinema: old movie classics are hugely popular. For others, it is our Sunday Pub Club for which nothing is better than a pie and a pint. We get out a lot too in our own minibus. |
