Francine Summers is Home Manager at Priors House.
I’ve managed care homes before I joined Care UK and was even an area manager, overseeing a number of homes.
I’ve also worked as a ‘turnaround manager’ too – helping care homes to gain regulatory compliance – so I’ve lots of experience in care homes.
There’s a lot to do when you’re a home manager, but the best bit is having a coffee with the residents and chatting with them. When I can I also join in with activities because it’s wonderful seeing residents enjoying themselves – after all, that’s why we do what we do. I love seeing happy residents living fulfilling lives in our warm and friendly home.
The team of skilled professionals at Priors House care home in Leamington Spa, delivers quality residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, in modern surroundings.
The beautifully furnished home - rated excellent on Autumna - has dedicated areas for activities such as painting, reading or for simply chatting with friends and family. There are also hotel-style facilities, including a cinema room, a café and even a hair and beauty salon so residents can indulge in some pampering.
The lifestyle team take the time to get to know each resident so they can provide a tailored activities programme, complete with group and one-to-one activities, to suit their preferences. These are based around residents' interests and hobbies to ensure every day is fulfilling.
We are proud to have been internally accredited with the evidence-based, person-centered Care Fit for VIPS.
