Ravenhurst is an attractive Edwardian care home situated in the canal-side town of Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire.
Nestled in a quiet residential area, close to Bewdley and Kidderminster, the care home is close to a string of shops, cafés and other attractions.
With a rating of Good in our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, Ravenhurst was awarded an Outstanding for Responsive. Comments about the team in the report included how they “worked to make sure everyone’s needs were met physically, socially and emotionally”. It also highlighted how every single member of the team were passionate about making a positive difference in residents’ lives.
One resident said of the staff: “They are caring, I like them very much,” while another added: “I am happy. My son said I look happier and in better health than I have for years.”
We were also praised for our strong working relationships with local professionals, such as KEMP Hospice in the Wyre Forest, and the local Chaplin and well-being service. Another area which received high praise was the home’s dying with dignity programme, which ensured residents’ wishes for their final days were followed with the upmost dignity, compassion and respect.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
But it’s not just about the physical care we provide, it’s the lifestyle we create for our residents. The magical moments created in the care home and how we support them to remain connected to the local community in Stourport-on-Severn. We deliver person-centred and fulfilling activities every day. Ravenhurst has its own gardening club in our very own allotment plot. There are always lots of visitors of the animal variety, from horses and dogs to the more exotic! Local nursery children come to the home every week to take part in some wonderful intergenerational activities. The residents also enjoy lots of day trips, including ice-skating, with our staff and their loved ones safely pushing them along the ice in wheelchairs, to boat trips along the River Severn. |
