Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

Aliwal Manor has been specially designed to provide maximum comfort, convenience and stimulation for the people who live there. We have a hair salon, a variety of attractive lounges, a welcoming dining room and some lovely outdoor spaces for sitting and enjoying time with friends and family.

People are encouraged to plan their own daily activities, as they would in their own homes, and dine in their chosen locations. To receive visitors, we have a quiet area as well as our landscaped gardens, where family and friends can be entertained whenever they visit. Light refreshments are always on offer for these occasions.

We also offer enclosed gardens where pets are welcomed and for those ‘green-fingered’ amongst us, we have raised flower beds to enable individuals to tend to the gardens, should they wish to.

Activities Are So Important

We encourage individuals to join in the everyday activities of life, such as making a cup of tea, laying the dinner table or helping with flower arrangements. Everyone goes at their own pace, in their own way, with our support and companionship. To add a bit of spice to life, we arrange outings to places of interest and optional activities which are designed to engage the abilities and inclinations of people; some of the most popular activities include our movie experience, board games, quizzes and listening to their favourite music. Individuals decide for themselves just how much they wish to participate – some prefer the more sociable activities whilst others prefer to read a good book in a quiet spot, or relax in the gardens. The choice is entirely theirs.
