Meet The Manager

Jogie Nograles Dellota is General Manager at Rosebery Manor Care Home.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the Philippines in 2007 and passed the licensure exam in the same year. I worked in the Intensive Care Unit as a Staff Nurse until 2010. Then I came to the UK and worked as a Healthcare Assistant in a Nursing Home specialising in Elderly with Dementia and Mental Health Conditions in Loughborough, Leicestershire whilst doing the Overseas Nurse Programme.  I earned my NMC pin in 2011 and worked as a Staff Nurse in a Neuro-rehabilitation Unit.  I relocated to West Sussex in 2012 and worked initially as a Staff Nurse then Deputy Manager in a Nursing Home for Young Adults with Physical and Learning Difficulties until 2016. I then went to join an organisation known for Luxury Care for the Elderly and Dementia as a Deputy Manager initially and later as General Manager.

Activities Are So Important

Every home has a dedicated activities team organised by an activities manager. With extensive weekly activity calendars, there is always plenty to choose from, whatever a resident’s mobility level. Activities inside our homes include ballroom dancing, board games, guest musicians and speakers and of course our ever-popular bridge tournaments. We also organise regular outings, from theatre and cinema trips to nature walks, shopping trips and church services. Many of our homes also have gardening areas and potting sheds, where green-fingered residents can tend their own plot.

The wellbeing of our residents is always our main concern, and designed to provide a full spectrum of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Regular exercise classes for all abilities, physiotherapy treatments in our specialist therapy rooms, and country trips are just some of the activities by which we maintain physical wellbeing. Stimulating activities such as crossword challenges, quiz nights and foreign language classes offer a great range of options for mental wellbeing. The sense of community and companionship offered by all of our social areas and communal activities offers emotional wellbeing.
