Alicia Taskis is Home Manager at Shedfield Lodge.
Having been in the care industry for over 20 years, my experience has been gained in Nursing, Residential and EMI settings with BUPA and Independent providers. My roles have encompassed most elements of caring about people at various stages of their lives with varying cognitive ability.
I first joined the care team at Shedfield Lodge in 2010 and progressed to the role of Care Plan Co-ordinator in 2013 and then to Head of Care in 2016 before becoming the Registered Manager in 2017. Having gained a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership For Health and Social Care, I am currently undertaking a Level 7 Diploma.
My mission is to provide a truly person-centred approach to care that recognises and values each individuals uniqueness, treats them with dignity and respect and understands the world from their prospective in an environment that supports their psychological needs ensuring their personhood, throughout.
Everyone living at Shedfield Lodge is valued and supported to live as full and purposeful life, while maintaining and regaining independence, where possible. We understand the uniqueness of every individual and provide a social environment that supports the requirements of each individual, enabling them to be the person they want to be, maintaining dignity, stimulating minds and giving a sense of purpose.
By understanding the world from the prospective of the person experiencing a Dementia, we are able to offer specialist care, centred around each individual ensuring inclusion, respect and choice.

Our Building and Facilities |
---|
Shedfield Lodge was built in the 1800's as a Manor House set in the Victorian Rural Pastures at the heart of the Meon Valley, close to the select villages of Shedfield and Wickham. We are only a few minutes from Fareham. To this day the building has been restored to reflect the original design and this is now a long established care home, specialising in dementia, for the elderly. Set in our own quiet equestrian grounds housing a recently restored stable area, we benefit from many horses and Shetland ponies grazing the surrounding fields. We have a beautiful landscaped garden featuring a fishpond with easy access for wheelchair users. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
At Shedfield Lodge we take pride in the range of activities we have available for residents. We understand how important it is to keep the mind active. To help promote this we encourage everyone to participate in as many of our activities as possible. Remember at Shedfield we also operate unrestricted visiting hours. Shedfield has a vast amount of animals to look at including horses, ponies, chickens and the resident cat. We also have an entertainment coordinator who arranges outings and all of the entertainment around the home keeping it person-centred and adapted to the needs of the Service Users whilst listening to the families for ideas.
