Tracy Lyons is Head of Care at Sherwood Lodge.
Hi, my name is Tracy, and I am the General Manager here at Sherwood Lodge.
I have worked in care since 2000. I started working nights as a Carer, then I had a ten year break to raise my family. I then went back to work in a home that provided EMI care, before moving on to complete my NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care to become a Senior Carer. I started at Sherwood Lodge in October 2018 with the role as Head of Care. I was later promoted to Deputy Manager, and then recently I was appointed as the General Manager for Sherwood Lodge, I am enjoying every aspect of my new role.
Sherwood Lodge offers high quality residential care for older people within a charming, purpose-built property. Our team of highly trained and professional staff are passionate about providing the best possible care through bespoke plans that are as unique as you are. Alongside this, we also offer short-term and respite care with a rehabilitative focus where it is helpful.
Ensuring the residents who live with us at Sherwood Lodge remain as active as possible is of huge importance. Our activities coordinators work hard to arrange a variety of activities to stimulate and catch the imagination of those we support. All the activities are based on the interests, needs and desires of residents.
The home is set within 2.5 acres of landscaped grounds which we share with Sherwood Court, our sister care home. Close to the facilities of Preston but in a quiet area of Fulwood, we’re easily accessible by road and rail, with frequent bus services.
We appreciate that taking the decision to move into a residential care setting can be a daunting experience. We also work alongside a number of third-party organisations that can provide additional information, particularly around funding your long-term care.
