Meet The Manager

Dorota (Dora) Woloszyn is Home Manager at Skylark House.

I’d previously worked in a smaller care home in Shoreham as Deputy Manager. Care UK had a good reputation as a respected care provider that prioritises its people’s development and the wellbeing and happiness of all residents.

I’m in my element when I’m with residents and learning more about their lives – that’s the best part of what I do. Interacting with them and knowing I’m making a difference to their day is a great feeling. I also enjoy the compliance and governance part of my role. I start and finish every day with a smile, and that’s what makes me happy.

Dorota (Dora) Woloszyn

The skilled team at Skylark House in Horsham, West Sussex, provides an extensive range of care services, from residential and nursing care through to dementia and end of life care. Every resident is treated with dignity and respect and receives care that’s personalised to their needs and wishes.

The home has excellent facilities, including a large, secure garden overlooking a riverside walk, as well as a coffee shop, hair salon, bar and cosy cinema.

There’s also an innovative range of group and one-to-one activities for residents to enjoy, tailored to their interests. Residents’ family members and friends are always welcome to visit whenever they wish, and they can join their loved one for a meal or take part in outings and activities.

Activities Are So Important

At Skylark House we take the time to get to know your loved one, so we can learn what they enjoy doing and how they like to spend their day.  Then we create care plans, organise activities and plan menus that are tailored to their needs.

We appreciate that having choices is vital to your loved one maintaining their independence. We ensure that all the group and one-to-one activities we organise are tailored to residents’ interests and hobbies and that there are different options to choose from each day. We ask residents for their ideas of activities they’d like to do, and we do our best to make them happen.

When it comes to activities the sky is the limit! Our home has a different and ever-changing programme of activities including pub quizzes, afternoon teas, wine and cheese evenings, themed days, fundraising and even intergenerational activities!
