What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Following changes to the Public Health England guidelines, we now have the facility for designated visitors to visit their relatives in a specific room inside the care centre which is also disinfected between visits. Please book your visit in advance by contacting Soham Lodge Care Centre.

Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

We have built a social distanced family room separate from the care centre. It is a safe space for both the residents and visitors to enjoy. The room is divided into two by a large glass panel. It has two doors; the residents enter from their enclosed garden area while visitors enter from the visitors’ car park to ensure a safe environment for everyone. It has the latest UV disinfectant technology for safety, an Echo Dot and a two-way speaker system. The family room is disinfected between visits, we allow thirty minutes for this process which also prevents a crossover of visitors.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Wireless Internet access (WiFi)

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

The Care Organisation has not indicated availability

Telephone for external calling

Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.

With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Our activity provision is very person-centered and designed to promote the individual’s autonomy, choice, and independence.

At Soham Lodge, we have a whole team approach when it comes to activity provision meaning all departments get involved! The team and residents enjoy getting involved in TikTok challenges, community projects, and Fancy Dress Fridays, From the laundry stopping to have a natter with the residents and pairing socks together to the residents helping the kitchen team set the table for lunchtime.
