Nikki Stevenson is Manager at Southdowns Nursing Home.
In 1990 I qualified as a registered nurse in Brighton and have over 30 years experience in nursing. Back then, nurses were required to wear hats and capes and perfect the art of hospital corners. I have extensive experience in orthopaedics, urology and renal. Outside of nursing I love to travel although sometimes combine the two, spending time in Australia, working as a nurse in an aboriginal hospital.
I am passionate about dementia and elderly care. This passion began 15 years ago when I took a new role as a care home manager. Since then I have managed a variety of dementia and nursing homes in Sussex and also commissioned the first NHS nursing home. I really enjoy working with residents and families to develop relationships, build trust and make a difference to their lives. My priority is to lead a team which aims to provide the highest levels of care to our residents and their families.
Southdowns Nursing Home is a 48 bed care home within a residential area of St Leonards East Sussex that specialises in the care of adults living with dementia or other mental health conditions.
