Meet The Manager

Fiona Yurteri is Care Home Manager at Southlands Place.

At Southlands Place, we provide quality residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. I have been at here for over two years and am proud to have been promoted from Deputy Manager to Home Manager in that time.

As a registered general nurse, I started out my career at Hurstwood Park Neurological centre working in the intensive care unit specialising in brain trauma and injury, supporting patients with Neurological deficits. From there I transferred my skills into working with residents living with dementia. I have previously managed Nursing Homes and supported the needs of a diverse range of residents.

As Home Manager it is important to me that our residents receive the care and respect that they deserve and that they see this as their home and family. Everyday myself and my team want to make a difference to our resident’s lives, seeing a smile on their face and laughing makes everything worthwhile.

Southlands Place care home in Bexhill-on-Sea offers top-quality dementia, residential and nursing care to residents on a permanent or short-term basis.

Ship ahoy! Don’t settle for any port in a storm, but find a luxury berth at the stunning Southlands Place care home in Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex. It’s close to Hastings and Eastbourne and all that the Sussex Heritage coast has to offer.

With a view of the coast from our upper floor, this first-class care home offers all the amenities that you would expect from a luxury cruise liner. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities. There's a café, hair salon and barbers, cinema and private dining room. Any landlubbers, though, will enjoy the landscaped gardens; ideal for hosting visiting family and friends in the summer months.

Engaging daily activities keep the mind sharp and creative, or you can unwind with a good book in one of our quiet areas. There are plenty of spaces to welcome visiting friends and family, and we also provide trips out to local shops, cafés, and places of local interest.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
