Meet The Manager

Simon Potter is Manager at St George's Nursing Home.

Simon brings a lifetime of experience to his role as Registered Manager of St Georges Nursing Home. His interest in social care started at a young age when a good friend’s sister had complex disabilities; seeing the challenges faced by the family, it sparked what would become a passion to work in the sector.

Starting on the YTS scheme and over 30 years later, Simon has worked within learning disabilities, those living with mental health conditions and for the past few years in residential and nursing homes. Progressing quickly to a management position means Simon not only has experience in care but also in managing a number of settings.

St. George's Nursing Home in Weston-Super-Mare offers state-of-the-art nursing, respite, dementia, and palliative care in a bright, modern, and welcoming setting.

Purpose-built in 2012 and extensively refurbished by Allegra Care in 2020, the care home is conveniently located near Worle railway station and the M5. Arranged around a pretty courtyard garden, St George's Nursing Home is set on manicured grounds, creating a tranquil outlook for residents.

With Allegra Care’s philosophy of person-centred care, all nursing, care, and auxiliary staff at St. George's are selected not only on the basis of their professional qualifications but also their personal attributes. Patience, empathy, and, above all, kindness are key criteria, and our team members possess these in abundance.

Our residents’ comfort and quality of life are our top priorities, so the staff ensures that their dignity, privacy, and independence are always respected.

safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
