Maggie Zbroch is General Manager at St Thomas.
My experience shows me that sharing love and providing a person centred approach can have great therapeutic results, making people comfortable and happy. My team and I bring this approach in to the daily care of our residents here at St Thomas’s, seeing my residents smile always make me smile.
Qualifying as a Nurse in 2012, I started my career at the Royal Berkshire Hospital on the orthopaedic and surgical wards, advancing to Senior Clinical and then Ward Manager. Experience on an acute elderly ward increased my passion for elderly and dementia care. This is when I decided to move into the private care sector.
I believe the care home environment is the best place for me to deliver person centered dementia care and implement great practice, in a homely environment that is supporting residents to live a fulfilled life. This also gives me the chance to work closely with loved ones to ensure they are sharing a happy journey along side their relative.
St Thomas Care Home provides high quality, 24-hour dementia care that affords the best possible alternative for those who are no longer able to manage at home. Our Memory Lane Community supports individuals living with dementia in a stimulating, yet secure environment. Our dedicated and experienced team empower residents to regain independence, choice and freedom in their lives in a safe and comfortable setting.
We aim to improve the quality of life for every resident living in our home. Our commitment to the individuals we support can be seen across the board, not only in our care, but in our cooking, hospitality and activities. Our skilled chefs are passionate about providing nutritious and delicious meals, whilst our full-time activities coordinators organise an extensive activities programme, with something to every residents' interests and needs.
We think you’ll find us ideally suited to meet your needs, so why not arrange a visit and experience our home for yourself?

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
Our activities coordinator is dedicated to organising meaningful activities on an individual and group basis to fulfil the daily needs of our residents, as we understand how important mental and physical stimulation is for their wellbeing. Our activities are available to everyone who wants to take part and there is something different going on everyday. We often go out on day trips including visiting shopping centres, garden centres, evening meals at the local pubs, visits to local schools and also coffee mornings with other care homes. We have a wide range of entertainers that visit us at our home including musical therapists, Millers Ark Farm, pantomimes as well as our local salvation army and lots more. We encourage families to join us on trips out and also in home activities such as baking, arts and crafts, dancing and singing, we believe this is a great way for our residents to live an active and fun life here with us at St Thomas. |
