What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||
---|---|---|
Avery Healthcare has always made the health and safety of our residents and staff a priority, and the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to raise our exacting standards to even higher levels. That is why we are taking the innovative step to introduce a cleaning system into our care homes that is already proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, including MRSA, e-Coli, norovirus and the SARS virus (which is similar to Cov-2, which causes Covid-19). |
Infection Control Initiatives in place | ||
---|---|---|
Air Filtration & Purification | We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting. | |
Independent Assessments | We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control. | |
Infection Control Training | Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections. | |
Infection Screening | We are using technology to screen for infections & monitor symptoms. | |
Regulatory Assessment | We have been assessed by the care regulator in our approach to infection control. | |
Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices | We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting. | |

Wireless Internet access (WiFi) Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms. Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”) Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms. Telephone for external calling Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms. |
Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.
With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Activities Are So Important |
---|
At St Giles Care Home, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment, where everyone can enjoy the variety of daily activities and events we put on. Our Well-being Coordinators understand the importance of tailoring activities to what is interesting and important to each individual, whilst also providing engaging and new opportunities. Some of our favourite group activities include bingo, sing-a-longs, film screenings and quizzes. Reminiscence plays an important part of life at our Birmingham care home and we regularly have one-to-one sessions with each resident in order to get to know them really well. We also love to stay in touch with our surrounding Birmingham community and often have live entertainers come in to perform for us, and as we have our own minibus, we can get out on regular outings. From visits to the local shops and trips to museums, to inviting local Birmingham groups and schools to visit us, there is no shortage of things to keep everyone interested in life. |
