Barry Sweetbaum MBE is Founder & Managing Director at SweetTree Home Care Services.
Barry is the founder of SweetTree and is responsible for the company’s business development and corporate affairs. Barry has a wealth of experience both in the UK and in the USA. It was Barry’s founding vision to provide the highest quality care and support possible to people in their homes. For him, it was about mirroring the care standards that his mother's caregiver, Margie, provided when she was ill. Instead of just supporting her with the standard tasks she needed, Margie created a new life plan with her to make sure that their time together was productive and made a difference. Since then, SweetTree has grown and supported thousands of people live more independent, more fulfilling lives.
When Barry is not at SweetTree he enjoys being at home with his four children, cycling, and working on SweetTree Fields Farm in Mill Hill.
SweetTree pride themselves on offering their clients the highest quality care and support possible, regardless of the level of need or dependency. Rated as an 'Outstanding' provider by the Care Quality Commission for two consecutive inspections (January 2018 and December 2020), their prime objective is to assist those they look after to remain in their own home for as long as they wish with dignity, independence and control over their life. They dedicate themselves to creating individualised care packages ranging from two-hour visits through to their specialised live-in packages.Their services also include bespoke programmes to ensure that the care and support received by all clients are appropriate to their needs, which includes those with acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, dementia, and learning disabilities, including autism and dual diagnosis. Whether a client requires companionship and care at home, or more specialist support, the team of highly trained carers is here to help. This has granted SweetTree a Specialist Care Expertise Award at the 2023 national Home Care Awards. Along with this recognition, they received four others in this ceremony; i.e. Day Care Expertise for their unique SweetTree Fields care farm, Infection Control for their response to Covid-19, High Commendation for Most Outstanding Independent Home Care Provider, and the highest honour: the Grand Prix Gold Award. Dedicated and highly skilled staff implement a holistic and personal approach to specifically meet individual’s tailored care plans. A flexible and informative approach adopted by professionals accommodates individuals and their families’ changing needs. SweetTree hand-picks all of their care team members and the highest levels of management are involved in vetting applicants.
