Meet The Manager

Patience Mvubu is Home Manager at The Arkley Care Home.

This comfortable, happy home welcomes people with short and long-term care needs. This includes care for those living with Huntington’s or Parkinson’s, and care for dementia as a secondary condition.

The Arkley has a huge atrium with a glass roof, letting light pour into the social areas below. Among all the indoor palms, it feels like the perfect place to sit and enjoy tea and cake with a visitor.

Residents can get their hair done in our salon, chat with friends in the tea room and even get creative in our activity room before sitting down to a tasty lunch in one of our dining rooms.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

There’s no typical day at The Arkley Care Home, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.

We take residents out on trips to the zoo and riverboat trips so they can see nature from a different angle.

Our residents love taking care of our home, whether that’s looking after the plants from their wheelchair or helping us with a bit of paperwork in the office. These are great for using skills and enjoying a sense of achievement.

We get visits from all sorts of animals – from fluffy bunnies and waggy dogs to reptiles and creepy crawlies. They’ll even visit the residents who are spending time in the comfort of their own rooms.
