Meet The Manager

Heleena Babu is Manager at Ambleside Nursing Home.

Heleena has been with the Home over five years. She is a qualified nurse and very familiar with services provided by the home including, older/ younger peoples’ nursing, dementia, physical disabilities and complex nursing care.

Whilst working for the home, she has undergone a range of management training to develop her management acumen and adopting best practices to deliver person centric care to people with general nursing to complex and challenging needs.

‘However much nursing care our clients may need, they are people first – with a past, a present and a future. It is our aim to make that future worth having.’

Ambleside Nursing Home has been operating for well over 25 years, providing nursing care to residents across South West England, with well-grounded community links including voluntary organisations. We are registered for 20 residents and admit elderly people requiring care for nursing, dementia and physical disabilities. The Home is located in the picturesque seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, approximately 20 miles from Bristol. The town has both rail links and motorway connections from major cities.

We admit people under and over the age of 65, provide complex clinical nursing care including PEG feed, syringe driver, VAC dressing to end of life care  in meeting the care needs of all our residents.

Activities Are So Important

Our Days programme comprises a highly innovative, resident centric activities involving arts and crafts, music, language, learning, storytelling help improve interactions, mood and mobility for those living with dementia. It is developed around each Member’s hobbies, interests and insights. Activities are conducted in groups in communal spaces or 1-1 basis in resident’s room.

Our interactive Tover Tafel is a wonderful way to engage with games and activities, encouraging hand-to-eye coordination together with an opportunity to socialise and have fun.

Our home organises supervised day trips and leisure facilities including shopping, park visits, and cinema.
