Meet The Manager

Martin Bargeman is Home Manager at The Mayfields Care Home.

With a career rooted in compassion and dedication, I began in a brain injury rehabilitation unit in 2006, rising from a care assistant to a managerial role. My leadership journey continued in 2021 as a manager at Castlemeadow Care, where I honed my skills in residential and dementia management. Today, I proudly serve as the manager of The Mayfields Care home, where I am committed to providing high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.

Our Building and Facilities

The Mayfields is a truly modern facility with features that makes it stand out from many traditional care homes. These include spaciousness with extra wide corridors, abundant lounge areas allowing for privacy with friends or relatives, generously proportioned bedrooms with en-suite shower facilities, a bespoke hair salon, generous natural lighting and elegant interior design, which all combine for a homely feel.

The Mayfields is over two floors. Primrose is on the ground floor and offers residential care. Bluebell is located on the first floor and accommodates those with dementia care needs. The first floor is accessible via two large lifts. Each wing has been sympathetically designed around the needs of its residents. Primrose, with its numerous lounges and sitting areas and access to external gardens, creates a warm, inviting and homely environment. Bluebell has a similar layout but is decorated in specially selected colours and themes to allow residents to feel at ease. Bluebell also offers a trip down 'Memory Lane' to promote reminiscence therapy and support residents' overall wellbeing.
