The home is staffed by a dedicated team of trained, friendly professionals who treat all residents with dignity and respect, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.

The home fosters a family-like atmosphere where residents are encouraged to engage with others in the atrium, the heart of the home. A wide variety of activities tailored to residents' interests are organised, alongside regular outings to explore the local area. Nutritious, appetising meals are prepared to cater to individual tastes and any special dietary requirements. 

Friends and families are always welcome to visit and are encouraged to become a part of the Thornfield family. With its warm and inviting environment, Thornfield Care Home ensures that every resident feels supported and truly at home.

The Thornfield Hair Salon offers a professional and relaxing space where residents can enjoy a little pampering and self-care. Our experienced stylists provide a range of services, including set, cut and blow dry, and trims for gents. For those looking for a fresh new look, we also offer perms and hair colouring, available for an additional charge.

The Reading Room at Thornfield Care Home is a small, peaceful retreat where residents can enjoy a quiet moment with a good book. Designed for relaxation and reflection, this cosy space offers a comfortable environment away from the bustle of daily activities.

All 52 of our bedrooms at Thornfield are designed to provide a comfortable and secure private environment for each resident. Each room is fully equipped with amenities, including WC’s, contemporary furnishings, profiling beds, and state-of-the-art nurse call systems.

We understand the importance of personal space, and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with cherished items such as picture frames, wall art, or small pieces of furniture, transforming it into a true home-away-from-home.

At Thornfield, we believe that every detail contributes to a resident’s well-being, ensuring that their living space is not only safe and comfortable but also a reflection of their unique identity.

We believe in keeping our residents engaged, entertained, and socially active through a diverse activities programme. Designed to cater to a variety of interests and abilities, our schedule includes music sessions, arts and crafts, visiting entertainment, and social events, ensuring there is always something to look forward to. Live entertainment plays an important role in our home, with singers regularly visiting to bring joy and nostalgia through music.

We also arrange regular trips and excursions, allowing residents to enjoy scenic drives to the coast, visits to local cafés and restaurants, garden centres, and shopping trips. These outings provide wonderful opportunities for fresh air, social interaction, and a change of scenery.

With a focus on fun, creativity, and meaningful experiences, our activities programme helps residents maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle while fostering a sense of community and well-being.
