Activities Are So Important

At Tithe Farm, activities and events are an integral part of the lifestyle for the people here. We recognise the importance of a full calendar of activities for older people—staying active makes a huge contribution to individuals’ physical and emotional well-being.

Regular exercise helps a person maintain mobility and strength as they grow older; therefore, we provide entertaining and enjoyable classes that everyone can enjoy. For example, our sit-down yoga sessions help our residents maintain and improve their strength and agility in a fun and stimulating manner. These movements are not strenuous and make an enormous difference in helping people remain active and retain their independence.

We combine physical activities with social activities, organising events that enable residents to socialise with one another. We encourage an active social life here, and we always welcome families and friends to visit—we recognise how a good social life can positively impact residents' personal well-being.

Our dedicated lifestyle manager and activities coordinators enjoy spending time with residents on a one-to-one basis to chat about and learn what they like and dislike. This interaction is also very valuable for the families, as we can then inform them if their loved ones are happy and getting along with the other residents and staff.

We strongly believe in involving families. If, for whatever reason, it isn’t possible to visit your loved one, our dedicated lifestyle team endeavours to connect you through Skype or any other medium so that you can be assured that your loved one is living a happy and fulfilled life.
