Lesley Smith is The Home Manager at Tunstall Hall Care Centre.
I love my job, as I enjoy helping others, supporting the hard-working staff team, and making every day a good day. I came into the care sector initially so that I could work and also be present to raise my young family and to be able to see them grow up. I have then progressed through the hierarchy and developed my skills to enable me to climb the progression ladder and make a positive change for others, as I have seen it from both sides of the coin.
Every day is varied and a new challenge and I have met some amazing people throughout my career and seen some absolutely heart-warming moments and such dedication, commitment and care from the staff teams, that make me understand that there is still a lot of good in the world.
The historic building of Tunstall Hall sits on the outskirts of the Shropshire Town of Market Drayton. The house itself boasts true character and charm, from its ornate ceilings and uninterrupted views to the large lounge, which was once a ballroom.
At St Philips Care we give people a sense of place and somewhere they really love to live, making each of our homes fun, friendly and comfortable places to be.
