Jacqueline Ferguson is Care Home Manager at Walstead Place Care Home.
"I have vast experience in the care sector. As a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience, mainly in elderly care, I have worked in nursing homes as a Registered Nurse and as a Home Manager. I have also worked as the Operations Area Manager for a large healthcare company. I came back to the role of Home Manager because I missed working in a care home.
My primary responsibilities are to provide quality care to all clients, oversee and maintain the smooth running of the business on a daily basis, and maintain standards in accordance with the regulations.
I enjoy my daily contact with residents, their families, and my Care Team. I also enjoy ensuring that the home can provide the appropriate care to all clients while maintaining their independence, privacy, and the right to choose."
Walstead Place Care Home in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, is a magnificent 19th-century country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide the highest standard of residential care for up to 43 elderly residents. The home is located in the quietly beautiful hamlet of Walstead, just a mile from Lindfield.
The home retains many fine period features, which are complemented by recent additions, including a magnificent new conservatory adjoining the substantial main lounge. The home itself is matched by its grounds, which include over two acres of rolling lawns, a rose garden, and a wonderful walled garden set against the backdrop of the beautiful West Sussex countryside.
In keeping with its outstanding location, Walstead Place’s staff work hard to provide the very best care. They were well-deserved finalists in the Care Team of the Year category at Caring Homes’ Delivering Excellence Awards.
We offer a full range of residential care support, including trial stays, short-stay and convalescent care, and long-term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms.
The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has both ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.
Walstead Place operates an open visiting policy, enabling residents and their loved ones to visit at times convenient for them.
